Review of Felix, Marmaris

View from the roof terrace at Felix

Felix is one of the newer restaurants on the Marina, opening its doors late last year. It mainly brands itself as a burger restaurant as well as having a rooftop terrace, cocktail menu and modern decor. This restaurant has the same owners as the very popular ‘Bono’ establishments however it’s more cost friendly. There are 2 floors, the larger seating area is on the bottom and there’s a smaller area on the roof with a lovely view. I would recommend booking in advance here, especially if you want a good spot. They also had a DJ playing downstairs which really added a nice vibe to the place.

We visited on a Friday evening, reserving a table on the upstairs terrace, overlooking the yachts. We began with cocktails, choosing from a classic and speciality selection. They were all a reasonable price at 60TL each (currently around £5) and tasted great. After looking at the menu, which was available by scanning a QR code, we got prawns, calamari, chicken wings and an american cheeseburger. The prices on the menu are much lower than elsewhere with calamari costing just less than 35TL compared to the 60TL norm and the burger and chips were only 30TL (£2.50).For this reason we had no idea what to expect.

American Cheeseburger, Calamari and Tempura Prawns

We were pleasently surprised when the food turned up however. The 3 snack dishes we had ordered were tapas sized and they were delicious. My favourite was the chicken wings as the Thai sauce was perfectly balanced. The burger was a decent sized portion although I wasn’t very keen on the mustard sauce and felt it tasted a little bit strong. There is a variety of burgers to choose from tho so there is something for every taste. The service was quick and the wait staff polite with them speaking both Turkish and English which was helpful.

The only small problem we had was when it came to paying. We wanted to pay by card so we had to go downstairs and pay at the desk. However this is also where to kitchen is, and it was massively busy. Despite us being the only people waiting, due to other things going on it did take some time to pay. In future I would bring cash. The wait did however give us an opportunity to see the kitchen and I can say it was spotless but tiny! This made us even more impressed with the dishes we had recieved.

Overall I had a lovely experience. If I wanted to sit and chill with some cocktails and tapas then this is somewhere I would happily come again. I don’t think it beats Akalis burgers in terms of taste and topping choices but in terms of restaurant location this wins hands down.
